Ian Fletcher, director of policy at the British Property Federation, said: "We want to see the candidates putting delivery of housing supply as a key priority.
"Each candidate has a choice of homes today or land tomorrow. There is an abundance of publicly-owned land in London that the next Mayor will inherit and could be used quickly and innovatively to deliver housing. Any proceeds from land sales should be ring fenced for housing, rather than disappearing into the GLA’s general account, to be spent on transport or the New Year fireworks.
"We want candidates that focus on provision and policies that can deliver, rather than gimmicks that offer false hope."
