The pledge states: ‘I pledge to back the building of more affordable homes and to work towards all constituents having access to decent, affordable housing in safe and sustainable communities.’
At the time of writing, a total of 245 PPCs had backed the commitment.
The Federation’s assistant director Paul Rees said: ‘It’s great to see so many candidates running for election backing our pledge to build more affordable homes.
‘With record numbers of people stuck on housing waiting lists and demand growing by the day – it’s crucial that politicians make a firm commitment to tackling the housing crisis after the election.’
