The project, which will cost around £910,000, involves building 11 two-bedroom properties over the next 12 months to help provide much needed affordable housing in Winsford, in line with Cheshire West and Chester Council’s housing strategy.
James Boyd, chairman of Weaver Vale Housing Trust said: “Despite the current climate Weaver Vale Housing Trust is firmly committed to investing in new and affordable developments of the finest design and build quality.
“This project will see the properties built to high energy efficiency standards and all the properties will have off road parking. The development will offer people high quality affordable properties to rent, which is essential at the moment.”
All of the properties will be built to an energy efficiency level for sustainable homes, which is 25 per cent betterment over Building Regulations Standard, will have off road parking and will be available for rent from spring 2010.
Contractor Wiggett Construction will be developing the site, which used to be derelict garage plots, in partnership with Weaver Vale Housing Trust.
