The CLG committee’s insistence on maintaining current house building quality standards and the importance of the strategic role of local authorities in the provision of housing to meet local need and of advice on housing options are also issues on which CIH has campaigned.
The CIH said it was pleasing to see them included in the committee’s report.
The situation remains fluid and it is encouraging that the CLG committee has recommended returning to the subject of housing and the credit crunch later in the year, the CIH said.
