The development, which is due to be completed early next year, is the biggest shared home ownership scheme in Westminster.

Once a further 181 affordable homes to rent are also completed, this will be the biggest affordable housing scheme built in Westminster to date.

Tenants will also be able to enjoy a roof top garden and have the opportunity to sign up to a car club to scheme to reduce motoring costs and help the environment.

Cllr Philippa Roe, Westminster’s cabinet member for housing, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for first-time buyers who are struggling to get a foot on the housing ladder.

“We are committed to increasing the supply of affordable homes and earlier this year, launched the biggest council house building programme that central London has seen for a generation.”

Over the next four years, almost 500 homes will be built on brownfield and under used sites on existing estates in Westminster under the council’s Community Build Programme, including over 170 homes as low-cost home ownership.
