Taylor Wimpey takes the lead in Customer Service!

Fortunately for Sylvie, a solution to her dilemma was just around the corner in the form of helpful Poppyfields Sales Executive Karen Crick.

Going above and beyond the call of duty, Karen volunteered to dog-sit for the seven-year-old sheltie cross for a fortnight – allowing Loulou’s grateful owner to enjoy a welcome summer break in Gran Canaria.

Sylvie says:

‘Karen and I became quite friendly after she helped me move to my new home, and whenever I popped in to see her with Loulou, she’d always make such a fuss of her.

‘When Karen found out I wanted to go away on holiday but couldn’t find anyone to look after Loulou, she very kindly volunteered to help me out.

‘I thought it was too much to ask but she was happy to have her as she was off work on leave at the same time – and it worked out brilliantly.

‘Without Karen, I wouldn’t have been able to go away. It was such a lovely thing for her to do.’

Following the sad death of her husband, Sylvie moved to Poppyfields from her previous home in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.

The development is close to the homes of her two sisters in Kettering and Corby, and it was during a visit to Northamptonshire that she decided to make the move – despite not having given any serious thought to the idea
beforehand.

‘I was visiting with my daughter and her husband when my sister suggested we go and have a look at the showhomes,’ Sylvie remembers.

‘As soon as I saw what was on offer and spoke to the Sales Executive, I knew it was just what I wanted and decided there and then it was where I was going to live.’

Sylvie’s move to Poppyfields was memorable for all the right reasons after Karen provided all the help, advice and support she needed to make the move as easy as possible.

And the assistance did not stop after Sylvie had settled into her new home – with the Sales Executive’s kind gesture cementing what has now become a firm friendship, even though Karen has since moved on to work at Poppyfield’s
sister development, Bryant Homes’ Ashlar at St Crispin in Northampton.

‘I think she’s absolutely wonderful,- Sylvie adds.

‘Not many people would do what she did. She really went out of her way to help me.’

A choice of stylish three and four-bedroom homes are now on sale at Poppyfields, and thanks to the Government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme, selected properties are available with a mortgage of just 70% of the full market value.

Under this fantastic initiative, qualifying customers with a household income of £60,000 or less can receive an equity loan covering up to 30% of the value of their property – meaning the fabulous three-bedroom ‘Heather’ housetype, for example, can be secured with a mortgage of around £90,000.

This charming townhouse is an ideal choice for first-time buyers through to growing families and downsizers and features a good-sized combined lounge/dining room with French doors to the rear garden, a thoughtfully designed kitchen, and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to the master bedroom with a handy en-suite shower room, two further bedrooms and a main bathroom, while outside, there is a single garage.

Like all new homes at the development, which range from £129,995 to £169,995 for a four-bedroom detached house, the ‘Heather’ enjoys a high standard specification including central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen complete with integrated oven, hob and hood.

Poppyfields is located just over a mile from Corby town centre, home to a wide choice of shops, leisure amenities and schools catering for children of all ages.

Up-and-coming Corby is undergoing a visionary transformation, including a new £60 million town centre with new shopping, leisure and cultural facilities, new schools and colleges and thousands of new jobs. To find out
