For Kevin, customer satisfaction and mutual respect within his team are key to creating a good home. “I only build homes I would live in myself, so the build quality has to be spot on,” he explains.
“For me, pride in my job comes from all our customers being completely happy with their new homes, and in fact, many go on to recommend the development to friends and family, who are also moving to the apartments and houses we have been building.
“It’s also important to me to make sure all the different tradesmen clean up after themselves, so that the site is always tidy at the end of each day, and ready for the next trade to come and work on the homes. Simple things like this help everyone take extra pride in their work.”
Steve Rolt, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, comments: “Kevin’s selection by independent judges for the third year in a row makes us all extremely proud.
“Receiving the Quality Award is testament to his dedication, management skills and his whole team’s pride in building the highest quality new homes and in ensuring their site is safe for visitors and staff alike.”
Achieving a Quality Award is no mean feat. Site managers undergo a stringent selection process with judges visiting developments at key stages of the construction process to assess them on all aspects of home building.
Each of the 400 winners is chosen from more than 18,000 NHBC registered housebuilders who run sites across the country – making the Quality Award a highly respected and much-sought after accolade in the house building industry.
This year Taylor Wimpey regions throughout the UK, which includes George Wimpey and Bryant Homes developments, fielded a record 70 ‘Pride in the Job’ Quality Award-winners.
All the winners now go forward to compete in the next round for a Top 100 Seal of Excellence Award and a Regional Award, before the UK’s four Supreme Award winners are announced at a gala ceremony in January 2010.
