‘Credit Crunch means further HIP casualties’

“Now more than ever, it is essential that estate agents select a proven and reputable HIP provider with robust and reliable processes and service performance guarantees. Outsourcing to a smaller player in the current economic conditions may no longer be worth the risk to either the estate agent or the seller of the property, who might find themselves having to pay for a second HIP.

“Agents should look for a HIP provider who is a member of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP), subscribes to the HIP Code, is regulated by the Property Codes Compliance Board and only uses accredited search providers.

“As well as being fully compliant, Simply HIP has responded to the changes in First Day Marketing legislation, which, from 6 April 2009, require vendors to have their HIP in place before marketing their home, by offering a money-back guarantee if the estate agent does not receive confirmation that the property can be marketed within 24 hours of the Energy Performance Certificate being filed.”
